Irish champion trainer Willie Mullins has the best record of any trainer alive in the Cheltenham Festival Bumper having won the coveted two-mile National Hunt Flat race no less than six times since 1996. Pique Sous, an impressive scorer at Leopardstown recently, looks a likely sort to go very close in the race this time around, writes Elliot Slater.
Mullins could well saddle a handful of runners in the ultra-competitive event which is possibly prized even more by the Irish than itis the Brits, so the fact that the home team will be bidding for a rare hat-trick of wins in the race following the successes of Cue Card (2010) and Cheltenian (2011), will be all the incentive needed for the Irish to pull out the stops in this season’s renewal. People placing a VC bet need to remember this.
A 20/1 shot in the ante-post list for the Cheltenham FestivalBumper prior to his win, Pique Sous is now a top-priced 12/1 third favourite to provide Mullins with his first success in the race since Cousin Vinny landed some very lumpy bets back in 2008.

McIlroy’s eyes will be on US Masters
Rory McIlroy is focused on a return to the US Masters, scheduled from April 5th to 8th at Augusta National Country Club and is confident he will win more Majors throughout his career.
The 22-year-old from Northern Ireland is one of the leading lights on both the PGA and European Tour and showed his true potential in two contrasting Major tournaments last season. Those looking at the golf betting need to bear this in mind.
